So, I have never read this before, it isn’t a reread (I know, shocker), but I have of course seen all the movies about 1000 times.
Bella is the most annoying, tragic, whiney character I have ever read about in my life. Now I actually thank Kristen Stewart for toughening Bella up a little, geez.
Majority of the book was Bella talking about all the ways she’d rather die than be without Edward, and how horrible her life is without him, blah blah blah.
Then it was all about her leading Jacob on, and then coming back to say “wait no jake! I can’t go on without you, because I’m selfish and filling my Edward shaped hole with you, even though I’ll never love you like that!”
At the start I for sure thought this was going to be a 2 star read, but it did get better and more interesting (Bella’s whiney-ness never went away though).
I really enjoyed reading the little extra parts that weren’t in the movie, and I loved reading more about book-Jacob. I am looking forward to reading Eclipse, and especially Breaking Dawn!
